Well sorry about another gap in my blogging lol. but n e wayz, its been a long and painful week, one that involves realizations and thought.
the next 6 days I'll be working, my day off will be next friday and saturday unfortunately, (you can see my new schedule). I've also been thinking alot about school, and I was hoping my sisters could help me decide some things, because I have no else to turn to.
But n e wayz, here is the deal. This school year hasn't been working for me, it seems like it won't work for me at all by the end of the year, and I have been considering taking the SAT's and then getting my GED, where I can start college. I'm not exactly sure that is a good plan, because I heard that not many companines or people in general are proud of a GED, and I'm not sure what other con's there might be of that. But it just feels as if I'm going to be stuck in high school for the rest of my life, and I really want to go into college, where I can take classes I really want to learn about. But to get into college, right now, I would need a car at least, and of course I would have to pay for it. But then, in the high school side, I have to pay for high school also, for night school, which is coming up, I need to quit my job and still have to pay for it, then after that will be summer school which i got to pay also. which comes to about $800. I really don't know what to do, I'm not sure what the best plan would be, to stick to high school though I know I won't make it, or move on, where there will be a few con's. But I hope you guys can help me decide what the best path would be, and hopefully you can help me, because I'm not sure what to do...n e wayz, I hope you all are doing good, cuervo out...

hey mike- well it sounds like what your saying is that you're going to fail this year, is that right?
well, maybe what you can do is just finish what's left of this year and keep your job in the evenings...saving money for summer school and getting your GED after that.
it is true that there are some companies that don't think a GED is that great, but the thing about that is as long as you have something, it proves you cared enough to get High school completed.
and by going to college-even community college, it will also prove that you are serious about your education.
we all have been young and made some mistakes-everyone has been there. what is going to count is proving to yourself and future jobs that you are worth it, by picking yourself up and making the best of the situation- by not giving up!
my only advice on the GED thing is, only because i've seen it happen with my friends, is that after highschool they got caught up on doing other things and kinda forgot about it. i don't think that is cool, i think that if you are going to go for it, do it as soon as possible, and get it over with so you can move on to your other goals.
i know you can do it! from here on out you have to just focus on your goals- i know its not easy.
i love youz,

MIKE YOU ARE ONLY 17 YEARS OLD! Your future is bright and open to so many possibilities...don't think of what school can do for you now...think about what it can do for you in the future...You are going to have to work hard for it...we all do...bc we were not blessed with parents who gave us a nice hefty check on graduation...but that only makes you stronger...and more motivated. I know that school can be a drag when you are thinking about it when you are young and in the present...and of course you want to explore other avenues and possibilities in your life. Mike it depends on the college you want to get into. If you want to get into NOVA then a GED is fine.. if you want to go to Mason, or a bigger school then getting your HS diploma is required. I know that in order to get into Mason and bigger schools your GPA may be a factor. And of course your SAT score. U could always finish up your HS diploma (night courses) included...or at a extended school institute like the one I went too...but finishing at night school is even better.. and then go to NOVA for 2 years...and then transfer to Mason or a bigger school. It is going to take alot of initiative and motivation on your part. Alot of research...but this is your life...your future...the more you do for yourself now...the more rewards will be in store for you down the road. I wish I had the opportunity where I could dedicate myself to school and maybe a PT gig on the side...I realize now how important that piece of little crap paper is. More choices...More opportunity...More $$...A weapon (like num says) in this tough ass world is what we need to survive...Member that Horacio and Felipe graduated college in Bolivia and came here and got kick ass jobs too...so like Vani said just get er done..the sooner the better...bc what happens is that time passes by so quickly. Don't think of what it's going to take to make it through..then it will be a painful process...think about it like this...you get over the crap now.. and then you can play later...you don't want it to be the other way around...bc the older you get the harder things get too. Wouldn't it be nice by 25 to have a kick ass career (job) and options like maybe buying a house and a car...you don't want to start all this stuff later...trust me...it is one of the biggest regrets in my life not to finish HS and pursue school and enjoy my childhood...it really is. I think about it all the time. I know that I am not 80 and have some time...but I don't want u to experience this...it would kill me. I want you to have the life that I always dreamed of and only the best. There are so many grants out there to help financially...and there are scholarships too...if you go to NOVA and start applying yourself more you could have college paid for YOU!!! And the best part is the majority of classes that you take WILL BE the ones you enjoy...so getting good grades are inevitable. I really hope that this helps you...and I hope that you decide to stick it through...PLEASE!!!!! This will be so good for you...you came this far..don't turn back now. And college will be worlds apart from HS..
